As a first timer, my wife and I weren’t quite sure what to expect when buying our first Charcoal BBQ.
The team gave us expert advice and we are now enjoying cooking up a storm on our magnificent charcoal bbq. It’s worth the drive and certainly worth the effort.
Quick to start briquettes , low smoke and ash.Excellent high and steady heat.Perfect for BBQ'S and smoking brisket. Highly recommended this product and definitely would buy this product again.
Son was delighted with his new BBQ tongs
I used to buy wood chunks from the big green warehouse but after changing to the Pro Flame brand my flavour profile has changed phenomenally instead of just burning wood I get wood flavour 👌 thanks Eric for the tip
Argentinian charcoal was fantastic I will definitely be using it again
Thanks
Quality of the charcoal is second to none. You haven't had a proper charcoal BBQ if you haven't tried the range of "Sydney BBQ and Rotisseries" charcoal. Smoking wood are great too.
We have been buying this charcoal for over a year now and won’t buy anything else. Was recommended by staff and we haven’t looked back.
First time charcoal BBQing, and the best way to cook your Christmas lunch. Big hit, never going back to any other way of BBQing. The staff's advice was great, guiding us on what we could start with. We're going to continue using the current starter BBQ and are looking to get a bigger one with more practice. You'll be pleased to know we didn't make it on the news for stuffing up the charcoal lighting 😆. Insta instructional videos were helpful, even though we told the boys what the staff at Sydney BBQ said to do 🤦🏾♀️😂.
We have had a chance to use anything yet but my goodness, delivery was quick and the promptness of answering questions was incredible!

How to Light Charcoal
Lighting charcoal can be simple and efficient when done the right way. Follow these steps to get your charcoal ready for grilling, smoking, or cooking in no time:
1. Gather Your Supplies
- Charcoal chimney starter
- Charcoal (lump or briquettes)
- Firelighters or crumpled newspaper
- A lighter or match
2. Prepare the Chimney Starter
- Place your charcoal chimney starter on a heat-resistant surface or directly on the grill grates.
- Fill the bottom section with crumpled newspaper or place 2-3 firelighters underneath.
3. Add the Charcoal
- Fill the top section of the chimney starter with your desired amount of charcoal.
4. Ignite the Firelighters or Newspaper
- Light the firelighters or newspaper through the vents at the bottom of the chimney starter.
- Allow the flames to ignite the charcoal gradually.
5. Wait for the Charcoal to Heat
- Let the charcoal heat up for about 10-15 minutes. You'll know it's ready when the top coals are glowing red, and the edges are covered in white ash.
6. Pour and Arrange the Charcoal
- Using heat-resistant gloves, carefully pour the hot charcoal into your grill or smoker.
- Arrange the coals as needed for direct or indirect cooking.
7. Start Cooking
- Place your cooking grate over the hot charcoal, and you're ready to start grilling or smoking.
Using a charcoal chimney starter is the fastest and safest way to light charcoal without chemicals, ensuring your food stays free of unwanted tastes. Let us know if you’d like more tips or BBQ advice!
